Mertoun Paddocks Racing is made up of a collection of industry professionals who strategically work together to make the racing industry accessible to those not currently involved and to take the hard work out of ownership. The concept is based on providing options, which can be tailored to your individual or group needs. We are your first port of call on the road to becoming involved. No strings. Impartial advice. Based in the heart of British racing and breeding, Mertoun Paddocks is the newest addition to the long line of world-class stud farms in the Newmarket area. Look one way and you will see the famous Rowley Mile racecourse – the home of the Guineas – look another way and you will see Tattersalls sales paddocks, home to numerous international sales throughout the year. Two minutes away are the yards of some of Britain’s best-known trainers. Early morning rush hour in Newmarket consists of hundreds of thoroughbreds walking to work.
The sister farm – Templeton Stud – nestles in the Berkshire countryside – just up the road from the historic village of Lambourn and the grade one race track at Newbury.
Mertoun Paddocks Racing has access to racing and training at both sides of the country and our aim is take people into this world, offering advice, direction, and social partnership which will allow you to become involved in the industry at your own pace. We have no affiliations to any sector of the industry so that we can deliver a 100% impartial service.
We can offer a wide and diverse range of such services from full racehorse ownership, bespoke structured partnerships, racehorse leasing, for a day, a month, a year, race day outings and visits to the training gallops. We offer advice at sales time and advice when there is a veterinary issue. We can arrange transport and quarantine. We just make it all happen, while keeping the client involved at every stage – highs and lows – it’s all part of the experience.
